BECKY HOTTEL Hallmark Senior Artist ________________________________________

As a child, Becky's favorite toy was her little electric sewing machine from the Sears catalog. Her mother was a home economist and taught Becky to sew. She loved to make her own clothes—changing the patterns and adding her own embellishments, of course!
A neighbor gave Becky art lessons while in elementary school, and she took formal art classes while in high school. She graduated from college with a major in Clothing and Textiles.
Starting at Hallmark as a production artist in Specialty Design, she soon became involved in many plush programs, such as Storybook Friends and Blue Lagoon, as well as working on seasonal promotional products. For Becky, it was a logical step from designing 3-D plush items to becoming part of the Keepsake sculpting group.
She loves coming up with a concept and following it all the way through to the finish. Her family has been a great source of inspiration—she can't help but get ideas from the things that happen when she's not at work. One of her favorite ornaments is a little mouse practicing at a piano.
Outside of Hallmark, she enjoys outdoor activities such as camping, fishing and skiing with her husband and children. They are also involved in being crew members for friends who have a hot air balloon.
